Met Gala Favorites
Last night was the much talked about Met Annual gala here in New York celebrating the museum's new Punk exhibit Chaos to Couture. With the exhibit being based on Punk couture many celebrities came with very edgy yet couture looks, some pulled it off and some not so much here are my top picks.
Rooney Mara
Anja Rubik
Nikki Minaj
I know what you are thinking, "what!?" but for Nikki this was a big step, I think this was the
most normal wardrobe choice she has worn on a red carpet in a long time...has Idol tamed her?
Cameron Diaz
Taylor Swift
Kim and Kanye (Kimye)
Despite her critics, I must say I love her dress, I love the over all design the dress, the floral print could be a little much however floral prints are in and this is one of those dresses that probably look better in person
than on camera.
My only critique was the cloves....she went overboard with them.
Cara Delevingne
Uma Thurma
Solange
Doutzen Kroes
J.Lo
Rita Ora
My Favorite Behind the Scenes photos!
Beyonce, Solange, Chanel Iman
(I love Chanel Iman's hair)
Kerry Washington, Andre Leon Talley, Vera Wang

My Top 10 2013 Oscar Looks
This list has no particular order however Naomi Watts in this Georgio Armani gown is an exception....this is my number 1 absolute favorite look of the night. The material and the detail of the pattern of this dress is so exquisite yet the dress it self is so simple. When I pick a favorite look I look at the entire outfit from head to toe, Naomi did it right with these loose curls (probably done with a barrel curling iron), the side part (I love side parts!), her earrings and red lips. Naomi definitiely gave a modern twist to the old Hollywood look!
Salma Hayek
I'm all about details and accessories and Salma Hayak did "it", this opulent halter dress' top is to die for! It serves not only as part of her dress but as a BAD accessory and when i say bad i mean Michael Jackson bad all the while making her entire look luxurious. What makes this dress so great is I don't just see it just on the red carpet, I can see myself wearing this to a fancy wedding or a gala. Salma also paired this dress with a high bun which is the perfect hairstyle for this dress however I would of went with the bun a little higher up and taken out that gold accessory in the bun.
Maria Menounos
I love how Maria brought color to the red carpet in the hot pink dress while still being elegant. The hair and accessories are absolutely perfect for this dress...tying a look of elegant fun.
Robin Roberts
Robin looked absolutely stunning in this rich blue velvet Marc Bouwer gown. After after all that she has been through I am so happy she was able to go to the Oscars and shine! If I could sum up her look in 3 words I would say dignified, feminine, elegance.
Charlize Theron was another person who brought elegance to the Oscars in this Dior Haute Couture peplum gown, Charlize looked so statuesque as if she herself could be a trophy, I love that she went with white when most went with black, silver or gold....she stood out for all the right reasons.
Stacy Keibler
Stacy Keibler proved in this Naeem Khan gown you can marry class and sex appeal with the outcome of a polished look . This entire look in a way reminds me of modern day 20's flapper with its opulent pattern details on the dress, high neck, open back, and smooth silhouette....I think Stacy may be the one to take George off the market!
Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts in this Georgio Armani piece looks like a futuristic siren. There's something about this dress that screams out modern, contemporary yet at the same time classic and graceful. I applaud Naomi for the risk that she took with this dress.Kristin Chenoweth
Being petite myself I know how hard it is to wear a gown without looking like the gown swallowed you up or picking a dress that makes you look like an adult rather than a 12 year old . I am so proud of Kristin in this Tony Ward gown she showed that petite girls can be more than just cute we could be sexy and dignified.
Purple is one of my absolute favorite colors. Its a color of royalty and Jennifer looked absolutely regal in this dress, not to mention she had this ruffled train that I adored. If it it was up to me every dress would have a funky train...her dress has the class of a princess in the front and the party in the back the princess would sneak to!
This bond girl mixed 40's glam with modern sex appeal, the high split was just right and she posed correctly with it, she let the split give that subtle glimpse of sexiness that its suppose to do rather than her trying too hard to show that she is sexy, this dress doesn't make Naomie, Naomie makes this dress.
What were your favorite looks?

Dark and Lovely's Au Naturale Launch Party Turn Up!
Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending a Curl Power Celebration for Dark and Lovely's Au Naturale Product Launch event here in New York hosted by one of my favorite bloggers CURLY NIKKI!!! If thats not great enough Grammy Award Nominated Songstress (formely of Floetry) Marsha Ambrosius was the special guest. Amanda Seales formerly known as Amanda Diva kept the party popping on the 1s and 2s...she was playing all the greats...I mean she had the crowd going with Frankie Beverly and Maze's Before I let go, Michael Jackson P.Y.T., Nelly's Its Getting Hot in Herrre to even Murder She Wrote and Wayne Wonder's No Letting Go... Amanda was Amazing! Oh how can I forget they had free drinks and appetizers all night...they even had Fresh baked Chocolate Chip cookies for dessert! My personal favorites were there Mangotini and this taquito thing they had lol. Dark and Lovely also had a fun photobooth and curl confessional, hair professionals doing consultations, big projector screens and lovely lighting. I actually used to work at the venue where the party took place and it took me a while to recognize it was the same place so kudos to the event planner ...This by far was the best Curly event I've been to.....I applaud Dark and Lovely, Curly Nikki and everyone else who was involved.
That Mangotini was great!
My Friend Deanna on my left, Curly Nikki on my right and me in the center....Some Bad Curlies tell you!!
Deanna and I...My twist out came out really good!

As you may or may not know I am a bit obsessed with Solange Knowles...in a healthy friend in my head type way i'm not a crazy stan lol...I see a lot of her in me especially the sarcastic tell it how it is part of her (probably because our birthdays are 4 days apart and the fact we have similar facial features so i've heard) The way she has blossomed into her own has made me really proud so anytime I see her featured on something I get so happy for her...so cheers to Solo on covering The Fader !

The Door by Ava DuVernay
Last night I viewed this Silent film from Miu Miu's Women's tale series and I have to say I loved it here is the synopsis ....the video is below
"The Door, by Ava DuVernay, the fifth Miu Miu Women's Tale, is a celebration of the transformative power of feminine bonds, and a symbolic story of life change.
The symbolic centre of The Door is the front entrance of the protagonist's home. As she opens it to greet a friend in the powerfully framed opening scenes, she is shrouded in an oblique sadness. "In the film, characters arrive at the door of a friend in need, bringing something of themselves," explains director DuVernay. "Eventually, we witness our heroine ready to walk through the door on her own. The door in the film represents a pathway to who we are."
Clothing is also a symbol of renewal, each change of costume charting our heroine's emergence from a chrysalis of sadness. In the final scenes, she takes off her ring, pulls on long, black leather gloves, and walks, transformed by the emotive power of the clothing, through the door.
Ava DuVernay was the first African-American woman to win the Best Director Prize at Sundance Film Festival, for her second feature, Middle of Nowhere, in 2012. The Door stars Gabrielle Union, Alfre Woodard, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Adepero Oduye and singer-songwriter Goapele."
If you're like me you probably enjoyed the music so encase you're wondering here's the list of the songs
